I thought we had this topic already but couldn't find it. Anyway, I've been playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for 360 and it is pretty cool. I thought it was always billed as a competitor for Skyrim, but it actually seems to borrow more from WoW than any Elder Scrolls game. Not that that is a bad thing since I'm a big WoW fan and very used to many of it's mechanics. Anyway, read up on the game if you want to hear an interesting story about the company behind it as they are no more and going through a bizarre lawsuit that includes an entire state suing them. Too bad we'll most likely never see a sequel due to that.
So what video games are you guys playing?

yeah, 38 Studios is gone as a result of everything :/ KoA;R was supposed to be an MMO to start with I think, and there was an MMO in the works codenamed Copernicus or something like that... I haven't played it yet, just been too busy to set myself up with an rpg that I wasn't totally interested in to begin with ;/ Friend of mine has it though, I may play it later on..
I have been playing Borderlands mostly... Played a little Arkham City the other day, and MW2 when I really needed to let off some steam--had a darn good couple of games which was a nice change.

Been playing a little bit of Silent Hill Homecoming between playing Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 online so I can get that Platinum. It really just makes me want to play 2 or 3 again. It's a shame they butchered the HD collection or I would be.

it's disgusting what they pulled with the Silent Hill HD collection :/ I watched my friend play 2&3 like crazy, trying to get the platinums... then to turn around and offer a selection where people could get a "free" game in exchange for the Xbox360 version, because they just aren't ever going to patch it for them (and the patch on PS3 definitely does not fix it all) Just ugh

Totally glad I didn't spend money on that. I picked up 2 and 3 via eBay a few months back anyway. Two copies of 2 in fact. A regular AND a greatest hits that has extras. All for PS2.
I did enter some sort of Facebook contest where the prize is the HD collection, and that's the only way I'd get it, for free.

Dishonored came in today off gamefly (arrived much faster than usual) I played through til I finished the segment from that youtube path to revenge bit. I was going to play non-lethal, but I'm enjoying lethal bits too I think I may just play the assassination targets non-lethal and play the rest however. am hearing the game is rather short though (some people beating it in under 5 hours--but hell, I beat MGS4 in under 5 hours ), but also hearing it's worth more than one playthrough with the various choices. I won't have time to do all that before I ship it back (cancelling GF before next billing ;p) but hoping to be sated by the time I send it back

Played some more Amalur today and then started a Need For Speed: The Run game. I've only just begun but I like the idea of a story in a racing game. We'll see how it plays out though.

Played the heck out of Gran Turismo 5, now am settling into Oblivion. Figured I'd play that before getting into Skyrim. Amular, by the way, was created by R.A.Salvatore, author of the Drizzt books, my favorite series.

Amalur had some great people behind it, such as Salvatore and Todd McFarlane of Spawn fame, as well as Ken Rolston, who was the lead designer on both Morrowind and Oblivion.

Well, I beat Dishonored. I can not stress enough how much I enjoyed the non-lethal means of dealing with your targets. I'm guessing there are two endings, I got the one for low chaos (meaning I wasn't a bloodthirsty revenge hound I guess ). So now I'm playing again, at a much faster pace (not collecting things as much, point a to point b), and at a much more lethal rate. There's definitely variety in the game, choosing how you approach each target is rather fun. The problem with this though (as I discovered today) is when you think you've spotted a neat way and it isn't actually a way to further your goal... it's disappointing, and not just a little bit. The thing I was a bit put off by, was that the story choices--regardless of what I choose to do, I don't feel like it made a difference in the the world of Dishonored. Now, there's some choices I've made the same in my first play through, and so far in my second, and judging by the end of my first game it would play out a bit different had I made certain choices--unfortunately, they just aren't choices I cared to make different. For example, from the path to revenge we saw we could brand or kill the High Overseer (I branded him in the video, and my first play through. Killed in the second, but I didn't right away due to a side mission). But, aside from hearing announcements about it being against the law to harbor a heretic (the branding was heretic branding), I don't feel like there's a difference. That said, the game is fun. I love drop assassinating, wielding a crossbow in one hand and my blade in the other. I use blink and dark eyes way too much--and it's ridiculously fun. However, once I have dark eyes (allows you to see enemies through walls, floors, and their line of sight), I am a lot less cautious. I almost completely stop looking through keyholes and in my first run through, pretty much stopped leaning around corners completely. Although, it's become a plenty handy tactic for my extreme lethality my second time around I'll be sending Dishonored back once I've finished this second play through I think (I may not finish it. I'm excited replaying some parts and others... meh). It's an enjoyable game, fun, and I wouldn't mind owning it someday. However, seeing as I've played it already, and I'm not entirely sure how much more there is really to explore (story-wise) I don't think I would spend much more than $20. Kinda feel like I have a lot more negative to say about the game than good. Not sure if it comes off that way. It's a good game, without a doubt. It's just having a hard time keeping my attention the second time through--which is where I am at now (and rushing ) And to be bitter and cynical, it's a game published by Bethesda that doesn't freeze my PS3 or have issues five minutes out of the box. That was a nice change.

Interesting. I hope I can get my hands on a copy someday but perhaps it will be a good test of my patience in waiting for a price drop.

Got my fifth platinum this morning in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. Would've got it sooner if my brother didn't live on the couch and watch Netflix 24/7. >_>
